Product description:

Glufosinate-ammonium, also known as glufosinate, is a non-selective foliar spray of organophosphorus herbicide. It was first synthesized and developed by the Federal German Hoechst Chemical Company in 1979. The herbicidal mechanism of glufosinate-ammonium is absorbed by the leaves and has a partial systemic effect, which can be transferred from the base of the leaves to the ends, and less transfer to other parts of the plant. It is harmless to the sprouts and seeds unearthed from Chemicalbook. Ammonium metabolism in plants is in disorder within a short period of time after application. The strong cytotoxic ammonium ion accumulates in plants; it poisons the plants to death. At the same time, photosynthesis is also severely inhibited. The injured plants turn yellowish-white after chlorosis, and begin to wither and die after 2 to 5 days. It loses activity after contact with soil, so it is only suitable for post-emergence stem and leaf spray.

Physical and chemical properties:

It has low solubility in common organic solvents, and high solubility in water. It is hydrolyzed at pH 5-9, and the half-life in soil is <10d. Stable to light.

Specifications:95%TC 200g/L SL

Usage:

Glufosinate is typically used in three situations as an herbicide:

  • directed sprays for weed control, including in genetically modified crops

  • use as a crop desiccation to facilitate harvesting

Glufosinate also has shown to provide some protection against various plant diseases, as it also acts to kill fungi and bacteria on contact.
